In Poland, the Act of February 4, 1994 on copyright and related rights applies.

This means that all maps, plans and publications that are of interest to us are covered by copyright protection for a period of 70 years from the first edition, which means that I can post scans of plans issued before 1954.

To publish other maps on the website, the consent of the publisher or author is required. This is a time-consuming and tedious process. It is very difficult to reach the successor of rights, e.g. a state institution operating e.g. in 1948. Therefore, some plans may appear without the consent of the publisher/author. These are most often items from non-existent publishing houses that have ceased operations and did not transfer the copyrights earlier, or from various state institutions that existed until 1989 and have no equivalents today.

However, I assure you that every possible step has been taken to reach these publishers. If anyone has copyrights to publications posted on this website and has not previously given consent to such publication, please contact me - I assure you that I will immediately withdraw it from the website if you so wish.

Due to the long consent process, some maps may be inactive for some time. However, please don't be discouraged. I think that from week to week there will be more and more fully active plans, which is what I wish for myself and for you.

However, scans posted on planygdanska.eu are also protected. They may be used for personal use only.
